Rātā Foundation achieves a 12.8% Return for 2023/2024

Cam Gracey, Chief Financial Officer, provides an overview of our financial investment area activity for the year in review.

Amidst a moving feast of geopolitical tensions and volatility, Rātā Foundation demonstrated resilience, achieving a gross return of 12.8 % in the year ending 31 March 2024, clearing the benchmark of 11.2%.

Our granting levels of $21 million in the year under review remained stable. We were pleased to have maintained our pūtea at comparable levels to last year, ensuring future generations will continue to benefit. On 31 March 2024, it was $685 million, compared to $645 million in 2023.   Our Funds under management increased to $685 million from $641 million last year.

We recognise the many that have gone before us on the Rātā journey and acknowledge their mana and the collective wisdom that has served future generations so well.

As to what the future holds, we cannot predict. However, we are confident that with a diversified portfolio and a continued focus on best practice, we will be well-prepared for any volatility or surprises. We intend to keep our grant budget levels steady and comparable to previous years where possible. We will be open and transparent about any changes to granting levels.
