Leighton Evans serves as the Chief Executive of Rātā Foundation, the largest community investment fund in the South Island.

He oversees a dedicated team responsible for managing a $685 million endowment, investing in a diversified portfolio of listed and private assets both domestically and internationally.

Leighton has more than 15 years in executive and governance roles overseeing portfolios.  Drawing on his background in science and infrastructure, he provides extensive expertise gained across various industries in steering the Rātā portfolio.

Leighton's leadership is grounded in achieving financial and social objectives, with a focus on investing sustainably and ethically. His commitment to responsible investing includes fostering robust relationships with Māori communities and supporting regional projects.

As Chief Executive, he has a proven ability to clearly communicate the Board's financial and social objectives, build and lead an effective team, and actively engage with stakeholders to maintain robust relationships.

Cam is the Chief Financial Officer at Rata Foundation. Hailing from Wellington, he is a chartered accountant with over 25 years of experience in many industries, including banking, finance, investment, and philanthropy.  His employment has seen him working in Europe and the United States, and now he is back in Aotearoa.
 
His skill set runs far wider than the financials though he is also adept at IT management and the running of business change programmes.
 
Cam has been with Rātā for over a decade now.

Tim's role as Finance and Investment Analyst is a broad one. From a Finance function perspective, he's across the reporting and analysis of results, compilation of year-end accounts, and statutory reporting. He also supports the CFO with the control and risk environment. From an Investment lens, he provides analysis and insight that supports Rātā to invest aligned with its principles and deliver on its purpose.

Before joining Rātā, Tim worked in several Accounting and Analysis roles and was involved with the annual audit of Rātā for four years. He has a strong attention to detail, a passion for collating complex data to make it understandable, and prides himself on delivering results.

Tim has been with Rātā since January 2024 and is excited to contribute to an organisation that has equity and sustainability at its core.
