Leighton Evans serves as the Chief Executive of Rātā Foundation, the largest community investment fund in the South Island.
He oversees a dedicated team responsible for managing a $685 million endowment, investing in a diversified portfolio of listed and private assets both domestically and internationally.
Leighton has more than 15 years in executive and governance roles overseeing portfolios. Drawing on his background in science and infrastructure, he provides extensive expertise gained across various industries in steering the Rātā portfolio.
Leighton's leadership is grounded in achieving financial and social objectives, with a focus on investing sustainably and ethically. His commitment to responsible investing includes fostering robust relationships with Māori communities and supporting regional projects.
